Celebrate Safely on America's Semiquincentennial

SafeOC Celebrates America 250
On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. From Fun Runs and fireworks to parades and parties, we encourage all Orange County residents to celebrate this historic milestone. But it is important that you celebrate safely.
2026 marks America's 250th birthday - the semiquincentennial. All federal agencies will be coordinating to plan a celebration of this milestone anniversary known as America 250, occurring on the 4th and throughout the year.

2026 marks America's 250th birthday - the semiquincentennial. All federal agencies will be coordinating to plan a celebration of this milestone anniversary known as America 250, occurring on the 4th and throughout the year. Key initiatives at the federal level include the protection of public monuments and security preparations for large-scale public events, such as America 250 commemorative events and the 2026 FIFA World Cup being held in cities across the country.
SafeOC, the local iteration of the national See Something, Say Something® program, is dedicated to keeping our Orange County communities secure as they prepare to join in on this national birthday celebration. As this milestone event draws closer, watch this space for updated public information for local governments and residents alike to use as they prepare to celebrate safely.
If your community is interested in tying your annual Independence Day events into the semiquincentennial events, visit the America 250 website for opportunities and ideas for joining in on the national fun. In addition, SafeOC has a limited number of community event partnerships to help your community celebrate safely. For more information, use the contact box below.
